Hello, can anyone help me please?
I have a death certificate (11a 77) for an ancestor, Howell Owens which states that he died on 26 January 1872 of Small Pox, at the time he resided at Railway View, Ebbw Vale aged 29 and his occupation was Forge Labourer. The family headstone is at Blaenporth (Cardiganshire) and states that he is buried in Penycae, Sir Fynwy (Monmouthshire). In 1866 he was still residing in Dyffrynbern (marriage cert).
My question is, where would I start to find his grave in Monmouthshire. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I hope to visit his grave as soon as I have details of it's whereabouts.
I'm keen to find out more about this ancestor as he had a little girl born July 1871 and died of hooping cough July 1872. His wife lived on until 1911 and his son died in 1947. Such a sad story as I am sure he moved just to find work and the family could not afford to have his body returned to Blaenporth.
Many thanks, Catrin
