Crawfordjohn marriage RAMAGE and MURRAY abt 1786
« on: Thursday 04 November 04 18:01 GMT (UK) »
About 1786, Thomas RAMAGE m. Jane MURRAY married, perhaps in Crawfordjohn, where they later had children. Was it the Scottish custom to marry in the wife's parish? Were there MURRAYs in Crawfordjohn?

Hi,

Noticed you are researching the Ramage family and i wondered whether you by any chance know of Adam Ramage who married Jean Mcphail they had 2 children born in the 1920's Jean and John. They lived in the Glasgow area.
Jean senior left Adam and later married ? Mckinnon who she had 2 sons by Duncan and Joe.
I believe that the name was also sometimes Fyfe Ramage.
I would be very grateful if you have any information on this family.
Kindest Regards
Jackie

Jackie

I noticed your posts in archive 2006 re the Ramage family, is this a tree of yours or are you researching for freinds?
I am the daughter of John Ramage born 1923 who was brother of Jean Barclay, wife of Stephen. I know a fair bit about this  line  including his half brothers Joe and Duncan and would love some info myself.

Many Thanks
Margaret

Dear Margaret,

Thank you so much for your reply it is very welcome. This is not my tree, i was doing some family research for a friend who was looking for information on Jean ( Barclay )sister of John ( this is a very sensative matter ).
I have gathered quite a bit on the family of which i am only willing to share with you if perhaps i could ask you some questions as i never did solve the mystery entirely. ( i would never want to upset or offend anyone )
Could i ask? is Jean still alive??
I look forward to hearing from you
Warmest Regards
Jackie
