Hi Neil

James, husband of Annie McMillan Marr, was the son of James Thomson and Ann Barber Bird (1894-1964).  Ann's parents were James Bird and Helen Harkess (1868-1937).  Helen's parents were John Harkess  and Ann Barber.  The family were from Cockenzie and Prestonpans.

Hibee, thanks for info on James family.  Do you have any information on James Herkes Thomson and his wife?  You show 1922 1975 but can you elaborate for me as I have nothing on these two. James Herkes Thomson is my 6th cousin 1x time removed.  I do have much info on the others you mentioned. Thanks.

James' birth was registered in Tranent, in 1922.  I've not investigated this branch of the family much further.
