Hope somebody can help on this.  I have so little to go on.

Looking for Tamar Stevens b. 1818 in London. So age 23ish.

Her address in August 1841 is Sussex Street, Parish of St Pancras.  Her father is probably Matthew Stevens, painter.  Also in the locality, if not the same house, will be a person called James Waldie, if that is easier to look for.

Sorry, she only turns up twice with any information, 1881 Census and her marriage certificate.

I'd be really grateful for any help on this.  I just can't take her any further back myself.

Regards

KA

Hi KA
Sorry - but have trawled through all of Sussex St and your people are not there for the 1841 index.
Will look tomorrow on the 1851 just in case.

Thanks Cougar.  But Tamar married in 1841, so the 1841 Census is my only chance of catching her.  I was hoping she would show up - and be with her parents.  But family history is never that simple is it.

Cougar, I wonder if you could look up 13 Stracey St. Stepney Mile End Old Town and 13 Hereford Place Stepney Mile End old town  I am looking for a Benjamin Parker, Tallow Chandler, wife Mary or Anna and son Andrew Walter maybe 1 year old. The Hereford address was taken from the 1861 census. The Stracey address was taken from a birth cert. for Andrew. I was wondering if Stracey St. got changed or if there was a Hereford in 1841.  Thank you  so much for your time.
Researching Parker surname in area of Weybridge Surrey Co. around 1870's & Stepney Mile End Old Town Middlesex Co. around 1840's-1860's, also West Ham Essex1840's and again1870's on. Napper surname Pyrford Surrey, Wood surname Ecclesall Bierlow Yorkshire

My interest is finding Thomas Blaney and his daughters in the 1841 census. They would of also been in the 1851 census.

My Harriet's marriage certificate stated her father was Thomas Blaney a tailor. She married on May 27th 1844 at the Parish of Christ Church  in the County of Middlesex by William Stone.(I have the original) She married Shadrach Raven a tailor. They lived at No. 27 Whiler Street.

Her death certificate said she was born in London. All their children were born in London and the all came to the US in 1854.

Other names on marriage certificate are Cathrine Blaney and Timothy Donovan. Shadrach's father was Richard Raven also a tailor. Seems to me there may of been a large tailor shop in the area where they must of came acquainted.

Any help or leads would be greatly appreciated as this has been on my shelf for over 15 years.

Hi Gabora,
Again apologies for the delay.
I could not find anywhere on the 1841 street index a Whiler St.
Tracked down the area of Christ Church which appears to be in and around Newgate St.
The only one I found was a ? possibly L Raven, aged ?14, male, druggist apprentice born out of London at 92 ?possibly Newgate St on p80 of HO107 720 ED9.
I am sorry - some of the copy is just so faded that can only pick out letters in parts.
I went through all of ED9 but could not find yours.
If you can narrow down Whiler St for me I can try again.
