Lin,Dizzy,
My Binstead/steed trawls have found some connection to Cheeseman,at one time this name is  said to have covered 75% of Kent, does your local phone book show many now?Binsteed is my main interest, seem's to have been a big swing to the 'Stead variety!
          Regard's,Goggy. ;)

Greetings Goggy, :)
I don't know about phone books for my CHEESEMAN connection in Kent.  I'm up in the Midlands.  I have a distant cousin branch in Sidcup.  Any help

I didn't have much time today and only made it through Westerham parish records through 1830 (the register dates from 1716 to 1870), but I did find some information.  I'll have another go soon.

Baptisms

William, son of John & Sophia ODD, 11 Mar 1821, labourer
James, son of John & Sophia ODD, May 3, 1822
Sarah, dau of John & Sophia ODD, ? Mar 1826, labourer
Charles, son of Thomas & Betsy ODD, 1 or 9 Jan 1826, labourer
Emma, dau of John & Sophia ODD, ? Apr 1826
Eliza, dau of Thomas & Elizabeth ODD, 25 Feb 1827, labourer
Thomas, son of Thomas & Elizabeth ODD, 25 July 1830, labourer

Marriages

John ODD, bachelor, Sophia King, by banns 16 Apr 1820 (wit: Thomas Odd and George Jewell)

Burials

Sarah ODD, dau of William and Sarah, Westerham, 6 Sep 1819 10 yrs
John CHEESEMAN, Poorhouse, Westerham, 23 Jan 1820, 76
William ODD, son of John & Sophia, 7 June 1821, infant
Sarah CHEESEMAN, 26 Jan 1823, widow, 69
James ODD, son of William & Sophia, 20 Jan 1826, 3
Thomas ODD, 10? Oct 1830, infant (Thos. & Elizabeth's son?  I'll check again.)

Hope this helps!

Greetings Shathaway, :)
Thanks for this.  Will have a look see and compare with what I have.

Where do you and your branch fit in?

To my knowledge, I have no CHEESEMAN in my line.

I just have access to the Westerham parish records and am happy to look for other folks.  I noticed this discussion about CHEESEMAN and recalled seeing quite a few.  I also have access to the 1841 census for Westerham and think that's where I saw most of the CHEESEMAN entries I recall.

I'm looking for LUFF, HEARNE (and variants), and possibly WELLER in Westerham, Feltham, Middx, and Egham, Surrey, so far.

Hope it helps, Lin!
