Hi,
I came across the following information on thr "Ros Davies" website:The church of St Columba's (Church of Ireland) on the King's Rd in Belfast has pink marble lectern and pulpit which was made by the sculptor Joseph Holland of Holland House. He also donated a baptismal font in memory of his daughter Clara who died aged 18. This information is given to Ros Davies by a Shirley Holland.
Put Ros Davies into a Google search and then go to her "Church Index", then choose Knockbreda Parish and then click on St Columba's Church of Ireland.
Also, last year on Rootsweb.com someone was looking for the same Holland family (hope it wasn't you!!)
You could email Ros and ask her to put you in contact with the Shirley Holland who posted her info on Ros's website- worth a try!
Hope this helps,
Briege

Hello -- I'm interested in some of your names, though my people were located northwest of Belfast.

Mary Ann (MORRISON) lived 1799-1885 in Ballylummin.  She married William BURNETT 1796-1882, who is buried in Ahoghill.  I'm interested in Mary Ann's origins and all potential MORRISON connections since I have no further info on her.

Also, William & Mary Ann had a son Matthew BURNETT, who apparently had an illegitmate child with Eliza LUKE in 1845.

One more: My great-great-great-grandpa's sister had the middle name of Dickson, and I'd like to know where it came in.  (Especially since Dixon was handed down as a middle name to my GG grandma.)  Aunt Mary Jane Dickson (CHESNEY) was b. 1837, and married Joseph HILLIS.

Mary Jane was the daughter of John Glover CHESNEY & Hannah (McCLURE) of Kilcurry, buried at 1st Ahoghill.

Do we have any connections?

Thank you so very much for a reply.  Do not know if we have a connection or not.  If you are willing to work on this we will see.

My Mary Ann Holland b 1862 to Joseph & Mary Ann Anderson Holland.  1903 she married John Alexander Morrison.  Do not know when she died or where she lied or if she had children.  Do not know anything about John Alexander Morrison except that he was a draughtsman and his father was a named John and he was a boiler maker.  This taken from marriage certificate found.

Joseph Holland and Mary Ann Anderson had a dau named Eliza Jane Holland b 1859 and she married Robert Dickson 1885.  They had a son Joseph Holland Dickson b 1898 in Lisburn,Blaris, Ireland.  Robert was a school teacher, so was Eliza Jane.  Roberts father was also named Robert.

No further has been found on either the above individuals.

Thanks in advance for another reply if you think we might connect.

Not sure if you have this but IGI lists another child of Joseph Holland & Mary Anne Anderson:
Joseph born 20 Oct.1866 Belfast registration district, Antrim (page 0257 in civil register).
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Thanks for reminding me about Josdeph Anderson Holland b 1866 died 1916 in Dublin.  This family is so fragmented as it seems so many families are in Ireland.  Even the son that came to USA his family was a;sp frag, emted amd ,pst sto;; are/   They all died so young.  Fred Holland, s/o Joseph Holland and Mary Ann McCluskey came to USA 1904 and had 8 children.  3 sons and 5 daus.  Fred died 1936 at the age of almost 62.  All of his children died before age 62 except one dau. and she was 82 when she died.  She had adult Alzheimer's

John S Holland, Sr, s/o Fred Holland had 3 sons and they all had sons.  I married John S Holland, Jr. and we had a son and a dau.  The Holland family was blessed with female children.  Even the sons had in Ireland had daus.

Joseph Anderson Holland had two daus., William George Holland had 3 sons, however, they all had girls.  It is so difficult to trace when there are not any males as females loose their names.

Joseph Holland had 11 children by 3 women
Mary Ann Anderson is the only one he married
they had, Eliza Jane b 1869, Mary Ann b 1862 and Joseph Anderson Holland b 1866

Then he had 7 children by Mary Ann McCluskey
Margaret Holland, William George, Walter, Clara, Emma, Adelaide, an Fred Holland.

He had 1 dau Mable Fitzgerald Holland by Mary Ann Mooore 1881.
All validated either by birth, death or marriage.

He sure did get around.   Are you related to Joseph Anderson Holland who married Hannah Patricia Murphy 4 Jan 1895 in Belfast and he moved to Dublin before 1906.
