The confusion arose, because I had James Marlow as her father, and I have a relative who I met through GenesReunited that has Robert.

May have to get the birth and marriage certificates.

Sadly, civil registration only began in 1837, so you will only be able to check the baptismal records. This would be well worth doing as there seems to be a lot of confusion about this and the 1833 Elizabeth is member submitted.

There is also this member submitted entry.

Elizabeth b 10 MAR 1833   Offley - Parents Robert and Avis.

Note that the Robert & Aves Family have an Eliza AND an Elizabeth ... in the 1841 census

Its Eliza with the 1836 Dob ..

   Christening:  01 MAY 1836   Offley
 
Her Parents are:
  Father:  ROBERT MARLOW  and  Mother:  AVIS  

The 2 actual Elizabeths in Marlow IGI are SUBMITTED - not ORIGINAL records, so somebody else has made a similar mistake ...

all things considered, I'd go with the Census ...

I see that Rick has confirmed the IGI member submitted status for Elizabeth, its surprising that the IGI doesnt have the originals - according to the Hugh Wallis site, the baptism batches are there for the years in question ....

IGI has marriage of an Elizabeth Marlow to James Norris 4th Jan 1851 at North Mimms, Herts. Marriage listed on freeBMD as March 1851 Hitchen Vol 6 p 695

Curious!  I have found these marriages on BVRI.

NORRIS, James to Elizabeth MARLOW married 4 Jan 1851, North Mimms, Herts
Husband's Father:   John NORRIS
Wife's Father:   Robert MARLOW


NORRIS, James to Elizabeth MARLOW married 4 Jan 1851, Kimpton, Herts
Husband's Father:   John NORRIS
Wife's Father:   Robert MARLOW

They would appear to be the same couple who married twice on the same day!  Once in North Mimms and once in Kimpton.  Very odd!!!

It might be worth getting the certificate anyway as there is something iffy about the identical marriages in 2 different locations!!!! I would double check the complete GRO indexes though, just in case there are 2 marriages!  Though I agree that it would seem to confirm that Robert was your Elizabeth's father.

I have had a quick look at the 51, and the daughter of James and Susannah is at home in Offley with her parents on census night. As the marriage took place in January and the census was taken in March, this would seem to be a double confirmation. Your Elizabeth should be living with James as his wife in 51.  I cannot seem to find them however.
