Hi there

Have you only looked under MUIR ?
I would look under Muir/Moor/Moore/Muire entering M*r* for the search.

Paterson could be Patterson/Pattersen/Patersen/Peterson/Petersen/Patterson
so Pat*rs*n would cover all of these.

If you have already used wildcards in your search my hints may help someone else

Hi
Have just read your posting for Walter Muir query death record . I have a date of 19/06/1892  for his death not later in century. Perhaps you have already discovered this information. All the other data ie marriage, childrens births are the same so must be the same Walter.

First time on this website.
Your Walter MUIR appears to be my 2nd Great-grandfather.
I have his same birth details.
I have his marriage details as 28 November 1838 at Dalgety. Banns were read on 24 November.
He died 20 June 1892 at Ross, Westland, New Zealand & was buried there on 21 June.
Agnes PATERSON (PATTERSON!) was baptised on 13 April 1816 at Dalgety & died 4 January 1898 at Ross & was buried there on 6 January.
I am surprised someone hasn't responded with this information earlier as I have had contact over the years with many MUIR relatives who have this (or similar) information!

They’re in Ross Cemetery in Westland. Visited their headstone & left flowers afew months ago. Their photos are on the walls in the little Museum/Stantytown area in Ross which is quite nice. Relatives on my Mum’s side.
