Brookes - Barrow marriage Manchester 1788 - details?
« on: Monday 28 August 06 11:38 BST (UK) »
I am hoping a kind person will be able to look up the detail of the marriage of
Thomas BROOKES  and Mary BARROW who married 9 Nov 1788, Manchester Cathedral, Lancashire.

My question: is there any comment as to where Thomas & Mary come from or their fathers' names.  Thomas Brookes probably comes from Whitchurch, Shropshire, son of Ambrose or John Brookes.  Mary Barrow came from Cumberland.

Thank you for any help with this,
cheers,
Trix

Hi

Marriage entries do not show birthplaces and entries prior to 1st July 1837 do not show the fathers names

Hi Trix
Saw your old message.
I too come from Thomas and Mary Brookes, via their son William that had the shoe shop in Manchester, and his son William who came to Qld in Australia. But I have no further information on Thomas and Mary.
Who are you descended from?
Cheers
Margaret
