Many Spellings of WEATHERALL
« on: Friday 25 August 06 21:31 BST (UK) »
My family were living in Dogsthorpe Peterborough. My Great Grandad was called Alfred Eli Weatherall/Weatherull and he married Emma Maria Dudley. They lived in Crown Street also in Lincoln Road.
Eli ( one census only has this name )it seems had 3 siblings Thomas Witherell, Elizabeth Weatherull, and Sarah Weatherill, though I'm guessing, only because they are all from Dogsthorpe. Their Mothers name was maybe Mary Weatherull, though again i'm not 100% sure.
Can anyone help please, who was their father? It might be possible that Mary died in child birth in 1870 giving birth to Alfred Eli ( the oldest of the 4. ) Mary died aged 37.

My earliest view was 1881,  when the 4 children were mentioned. they seem to disappear before this time
Elizabeth born c1862
Thomas born c1859
Sarah born c1864
Alfred Eli born 1870 when Mary Weatherull died

if Mary died giving birth to Albert the oldest of the 4,  then she surely cannot be the mother of his younger siblings ! I think you meant youngest or latest

In your other posting, I found birth index of Alfred in Sept 1870. In same quarter now found death index of Mary WEATHERULL Peterborough 3b/166

This is what you are saying above - however who  is the alledged mother Mary with sons William, Benjamin & Alfred on 1881 census up in Nottinghmshire ?
