Nathaniel Sedgmore(Sedgman) Marriage - desperate
« on: Friday 25 August 06 06:48 BST (UK) »
We are looking for the marriage of Nathaniel Sedgmore (Sedgman) approx 1720 in Cornwall.

He was born in St. Keverne 1702 to Nathaniel Sedgmore and Anne Matthew.
Nathaniel and Ann above were married  01.07.1701 in Ruan Major.

The Nathaniel I am looking for has his children baptisms recorded from 1721 in St. Keverne - Mother Ann ?

I have searched all of the records I can find on the net.
I was hoping someone out there might have some marriage records for other areas nearby which are not on the net.  It would be greatly appreciated.

Sabrina

Can you get to the record office?    If not, you can get films of the parish registers they will hold there and search them at your nearest LDS centre.  They are worldwide and listed on www.familysearch.org       If you start at St Keverne and work out you will probably find them in the end!    Many parishes are not on the IGI or certain dates are not covered.   You can check which ones are by looking at Genuki.com and there is a link to Hugh Wallis' site which lists IGI covered parish records.
Good luck
Andrea

I have searched St. Keverne records, and any other I can find on the net.  I believe they must have married where ever Ann came from.  I am in Australia

Oh dear.  Australia is a bit far to get to a record office!  In that case your only hope is to get parish record films from your nearest LDS centre if no-one comes up with an answer for you.   You can order them and they take about a month to arrive then you can search them at leisure.  Have you contacted the local Family History Society to see if they have any CDs or books for sale?  Many do produce marriage transcripts.
I hope something turns up for you.
Andrea

Chrissie

Thank you for your reply.  I have recently gone mad and sorted out the whole Sedgman family from the 1600's down (to my way of thinking anyway).  The Nathaniel born 1702 died in 1702.  I believe the Nathaniel we are looking for was born 1695, married about 1720 to an Ann, then had the children in the Baptisms.  I don't know how to get in touch with you.  Is there a way through this site.  I think you might be in touch with Jennifer  - are you.  My husband is descendant from Nathaniels son Edward married to Charlotte.  If I can find you, I will send you a copy of my tree I did above.  Everyone seems to be confused.
