Hi Twigg
I have to visit the Library tomorrow for another member.I will have look in the directories while i am there.I have to say though although they have the full set for the 1800's the 1900's are sparse. Don't remember ever seeing a 1911 though, will have a look see anyway :D

Hi Twigg
the only Norton street i could find in the 1912 directory was
Norton Street Bootle Peel road. Norton Street west London Road. Number 6 Cohen,Jacob, Bazzar. So it looks like it was off a very long road if its yours.

It doesn't mean the address is wrong Twigg,it's just that i never found it for some reason.I will re-Check the directory on my next visit to the library next week. The directories were printed every other year.So there wont be a 1911.

Hi Twigg
I checked the directory again,Norton St is the only St, the others are Roads, they are not in Runcorn though.

Celia

Can anyone throw any light as to why Norton St in Runcorn is not in the Cheshire directory ???.Or is it one of those streets that is off another very long one :-\.This does happen.

I was brought up in Norton village, which is very close to Runcorn. I don't know of a Norton St. There was a Norton Hill though, and a Norton Brow.
