Thank you John,
I had no idea who John's parents were - I have Charlotte's Will but it only mentions her side of the family and who her sister's married - that was the only way I knew I was on the right track.  With so many Allen's and then my Allen marrying into Allen I was totally confused.  I stem from Charlotte's sister, Christian.
Cheers
Maree

I am amazed! I have found very few even distant connections with my Purser family.............do tell me more  :)

Jane married George 13 August 1863 in Brampton and they had 3 children.  The last one was born at about the same time as George died in 1867.

Jane remarried in 1876 to William Upex.

My ancestor Lucy Purser (my 3 x great grandmother) was George's sister.  She married and lived in London but was obviously visiting Brampton in 1874 as her baby son died there on 23 July 1874 and was buried there.

It was finding the baby's death certificate that gave me the clues to Lucy's origins.  Jane Purser registered the baby's death.

Hi Barbara,
I have Jane Allen, daughter of Thomas Allen and Sarah Newman marrying George Purser in 1863.

Jane and George Purser had three children that I know of:  Mary Ann Purser;  George Purser (1865) and John Allen Purser (1867).

Regards
Maree

Hello Andrew .... & welcome to RootsChat

I guess you're the Andrew Allen who contacted me on Genes Reunited.

If you read through this topic you will find info on the Allen family. However I will summarise my link to your family. My grandfather's 2nd wife Mabel Bishop b 1887 was daughter of Thomas Bishop & Alice Allen. Alice b 1855 in Hemingford Abbots is daughter of your Robert Allen & Sarah Taylor. Robert baptised 1813 Brampton is son of John Allen & Susannah Bracegirdel. John baptised 1781 Brampton is son of Matthew Allen & Bridget Woodley. Matthew may have been born 1759 Alconbury but I have no definite details.

Regards John
