Many years later, the orange blossom was painstakingly unpicked from what remained and turned into a coronet...

There is a wonderful collection of wedding photographs here, with many styles of wedding dresses. I have one I can add to the collection from 1941 - my parents - and the dress is still in the family's possession.

Oh Cal, what a lovely topic!  I have been collecting wedding photos of all the brides across the generations, but this is my favourite.  Some of you may recall it from the restoration boards.  When I originally posted it, there was a chink missing from the bottom right hand corner, so my Great Grandma Ellen's legs had vanished!!  Thanks to the wonderful restorers, here's the improved version.

It's my Nan & her first husband, Billy payne, who sadly died 18 months later.  The wedding was in 1929 Southampton.

Hi Debbie

I am so glad I started this thread.

The photos on here are wonderful and I always think it is great to see people happy on their special day (I know many probably didn't end up happy later on :-\ ) also to see family generations together.
The changes in style are fab too

PaulaToo how great is that the the orange blossom was unpicked and recycled later  :)

I must have a root around for some more of mine and get them scanned
