BIRRELL - FALKLAND Freuchie LESLIE Dunfermline
« on: Friday 18 August 06 22:22 BST (UK) »
Our Birrell family records begin at Falkland through other places to Dunfermline c.1856, where MARY BIRRELL died 1887 and HENRY BIRRELL died 1885. After 20 years research, I have much to share from Fife, Edinburgh, Newcastle/Tyne and Australia.
Born to HENRY BIRRELL and wife MARY ROBERTSON from 1804 at Leslie were:- Henry (m.KIRK), Margaret, William, David, Elspeth (m.ANDERSON), Janet (m.STOBIE), Mary, Agnes, John, James, Christiana and lastly at Dunfermline Jemima BIRRELL(m.REITH). I have a great deal to share so ask me for the Web Site, Word doc.  Thelma

Hello Naomithel and beansgram,

A few days ago I posted a bit of information about Campbell White Livingston and her family in the Falkland/Freuchie area. I believe that I mentioned on that posting that I used to cycle to school at Freuchie every day from where I lived at Easter Lathrisk Far near the River Eden. Happy Days!

Naturally enough, I wrote quite a bit about the White's but I can't remember whether or not I wrote about George White who married Mary Birrell on 11th May, 1788 at Falkland.

You will find quite a lot of my postings on the Fife, Perth and Clackmannan Boards. There's a significant amount of data on families from those counties.
Although I now live here in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, I havve an enduring interest in "the folks back home".

I would be most grateful in any information that you have.

Kind regards,

Tom.

Hello Beansgram,

I note the mention of David Drylie in your Family Tree.I have just finished one helluva exercise on the Drylie's and the Tods and have posted them on RootsChat in the past few days. One part of that exercise was to kill the myth about David Drylaw and Ellen Hume Tod. The saga of Daid Drylie and his wife Helen Tod is an interesting one and I would be grateful for your input.

Kind regards,

Tom.
