Wasn't Christopher, Gerry. There's at least one other child: James Patrick McMullan born 16 Sept.1865 Portaferry district, Co. Down (mother- Kellen).

Directory will not give family details- just name of head of household.

www.origins.net/store/ireland/Store-ireland-BassettDown1886.aspx

and for those who can't afford the book, or just want to be able to search in it easily, an e version can be downloaded for £4.99 at:

ps

wonder if anyone is a member of the Irish Family Research site - if they are, do they think it is worth the cost?

Thanks scotmum that is useful

Thanks Aghadowey- The alternative spelling could be usefull. Bridget was recorded as Bridget Killen, rather than 'Kellen' in the Ros Davies Co Down surnames site.

Hi Christopher,

Thank you very much for your help before. I was wondering if you might be able to help me again.I have found my gr gr gr gr grandfather Thomas Conkey a weaver from Tullyhubbert b approx 1790 a presbyterian his son was Joseph a  national school teacher from Dumurry b approx 1816 died 1898. I have found a reference to Arthur Conkey wife Margaret Greenfield from Saintfield Comber area they had a son Thomas born approx 1787. I don't know where i could find anymore information to see if these two are linked.

Many thanks
Theresa

Just wondering if you are still doing look ups?

Names would be Boyce, Wallace, Thompson, Wightman, McClenaghan.
Thank you so much for your time.

Best Regards,

Hello Shirley,

I haven't borrowed Bassetts from the library for some time and unfortunately I don't own a copy. Directories on the Lennon Wylie site and the Primary Valuations for Co. Down may have something.
