Romany Rootschat

Romany-Rootschat is a wonderful site, my 4xggrandparents John & Letitia Gentle are listed with their children, all except my 3xggrandmother Jane she was born in 1817. Anyone have any ideas as to why she is missing? All but l child was born in Alkerton Oxford, Susannah was born Kidlington.

North Wales          

The ancestors lived here and there, in many scattered
places, with various occupations

Glad you like the site - I haven't had a chance to update it recently, but I have another 2000 or so records still to add - mostly from Hampshire and Surrey.

If any one has any information they would like me to add to the site please just send it to

Hi Jean, I notice you have Renwicks in your list of names, my Great Grandmother was Ann Renwick married to Robert Gibson, does this ring any bells with you?

I'm afraid I know little about the romany site but if you log on to google and type ins something about Romany ancestors, or something similar it will bring it up, If I find the actual web address I will let you know, but your first task is to find out where in I reland your family came from, difficult but not impossible
