Meanwhile, I have found Annie Brown and her 3 children Margaret, Mildred & Walter aboard the ATHENIA arriving at Quebec on 7 June 1912. The manifest says they were headed to Vancouver. A 36 year old upholsterer named Walter Brown born in Scotland arrived in Montreal on 2 May 1911 aboard the CASSANDRA. The manifest shows him headed to Vancouver. If your Walter was an upholsterer then it seems he may have worked in Canada for over a year before sending for his family.
