Chirbury and Wentnor Parish Records - PARTRIDGE & PINCHES

I am trying to find the baptism records of the following two people - dates have been calculated from census entries.....

Jane Partridge, born c1811, Chirbury

John Pinches, born c1807, Wentnor

If anyone could help I would be most grateful.

I've had another 'dig' at this branch of the tree and think it's now the 1810 chap!

I found Jane Partridge - her parents were the publicans at The Horseshoes in Ratlinghope which has been used to film some of the scenes in "The Green Green Grass" for BBC1!

I'll order the marriage certificate to prove John's father one way or the other!

That's interesting about the pub being used for filming........I know Ratlinghope and the pub, but haven't been there for many years.

just spotted this post of 2007. one of my gx2 grandmothers was elizabeth partridge sister of jane partridge. do you know anything of where their parents william and mary came from?

If they came from Ratlinghope, you may struggle to find them as the baptisms only start in 1794. However, there is a transcript at Shropshire Archives that goes back to 166X, probably from BTs.

Hi Dawn,

Catching up with some old posts - I believe Mary was from Alberbury. I have a marriage of William Partridge and Mary Burgwin 24 August 1819 in Pulverbatch. William is last seen on the 1841 census and all I have is Shropshire. Both born c1794.
