Hi Kate

I found the following in 1851
HO107/2498/790/4, Castle Caereinion, Castle Village
Catherine Lloyd, w, m, 26, labourer's wife, MGY Trefeglwys

No husband shown with her.

The only Catherine Lloyd of suitable age (younger than you said) born in a parish Tre..........

Hope it fits, cheers Dave

Hi Kate

Sorry about that.   Yes the w indicates wife (relationship to head of the house - who's not there  ;D) and the m indicates married.   I suppose if she was widowed it would read
Catherine Lloyd, h, w, 26 etc or something like that  :)

Her husband was missing and it appeared that she was the only one in the household there on the day.   Difficult to say but I can let you know the people either side if you wish.

Cheers Dave

Hi Kate

Had a thought, most rare, and looked up her marriage in freeBMD Catharine Humphreys got married 1849 December quarter, Montgomery District, vol 27, page 206 and there was a John Lloyd on the same page.   You may have done this yourself but thought I'd say in case you may want to order a marriage certificate etc.
Incidently Castle Caereinion is in the Montgomery Registration District, another coincidence.

Cheers Dave
