I am afraid there has been a bit of a mixup here. This is not the daughter of Henry and Margaret. This girl is the daughter of James and Ellen married at her mothers residence Burra

Here is the marriage of the daughter of Henry TAYLOR and Margaret McDONALD

FAIRLIE John 21 Single Father William Hamilton FAIRLIE = TAYLOR Margaret 17 Single Father Henry TAYLOR 15 Jan 1886 St Andrew Manse Adelaide Dist Ade 146/323

The other one is the daughter of James TAYLOR and Ellen DOIG of Burra

ROSEWALL John Andrew 25 Single Father Thomas ROSEWALL = TAYLOR Margret 20 Single 23 Jan 1889 Res of Ellen Taylor Kooringa Dist Bur 158/184

By the way I think you can rule out the Margaret died 1910

TAYLOR Margaret aged 89 Widow of Exeter died 18 Apr 1910 at Exeter Dist PtA 348 188 Rel William TAYLOR deceased husband - looks like her husband died in 1884

TAYLOR Margaret aged 38 Mar of Mt Barker died 23 Jul 1873 Mt Barker Dist MtB 53 140 Rel Henry TAYLOR Husband

TAYLOR Henry 79 Mar Status not known of Mt Barker died  16 Feb 1905 Mt Barker Dist MtB 308 26 Rel not recorded

3rd marriage (I Note Henry was widowed at the time of his marriage to Margaret

TAYLOR Henry 56 Widow Father Michael TAYLOR = Caroline Stewart MacFARLANE 45 Single Father Allan MacFARLANE 1 Jun 1881 House Mt Barker Dist MtB 127 844

Cheers Kris  :)

So what became of your Henry and Margaret? ....back to the drawing board.

Hi Lilygirl,

I have just seen your post from 2006, so I'm hoping this will still get to you. I think I may know who Henry Taylor's first marriage was. I have been researching a daughter of one of my ancestors, named Winifred Lyne who married a Henry Taylor in 17 August 1852 in Adelaide. Winifred Taylor [nee Lyne] was killed in 1853 in Encounter Bay [cart accident]. I saw that Henry Taylor, who married Margaret McDonald, was a widow when he married in 1855, so there is a possibility that our Henry Taylors are one and the same.

My Henry Taylor had his age down as 30 years old when he married Winifred, meaning born around 1822. I would be interested in your opinion on this possible connection.

Regards,

David
