Another Margaret Taylor died 1896 is in the Macclesfield cemetery which is in the Mt Barker area I think. no other info available

Hi there,
Thanks for your help.
Just a few queries.
I've got a few entries regarding children of Henry Taylor and Margaret

Above it's been posted that

Catherine was born 19/11/1855 dist TMu
William 11/8/1857 Pewsey Vale dist Cra
Thomas 3/4/1859 Mt Pleasant dist Tal

Hugh 14/01/1863 Mt Pleasant dist Tal
Margaret 19/2/1868 Truro dist Ang
also a Henry born 1865 Truro dist Ang.

Another researcher had listed a Jane born 1861 to Henry and Margaret also - is there any reference to a Jane Taylor in the SA births at all? Looking at the dates she could easily fit in to the gap.

BISA info states Henry lived Pewsey Vale, Salt Ck, The Tiers, Truro
does anyone know what area Salt Creek would refer to?
Also what children if any are listed in BISA to Henry?

also what area is covered by reg. district Talunga?

In regard to the deaths of Henry and Margaret don't really have any way of confirming any of the possibilities as yet. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance
Lilygirl.

I'm looking for info on Thomas TAYLOR's parents.
My Thomas was born 3 Apr 1859 I believe Mt Pleasant and died 1936?

I believe his father was Henry Taylor but I know nothing about his birthdate, where he was from or his death.

I believe he married Margaret McDonald in SA 1st Jan 1855 so must have come to Australia quite early on.
Have been told she was from Orkney, Ireland and died 1910 in Adelaide but have no info to back that up so not sure if it's entirely accurate.

Can some kind person please look up their marriage info for me and possibly their deaths to start with so hopefully I can view the certificates incase they shed any light on further help.

Thanks in advance,
Lilygirl.

Hi Craizi Daizi

I'm in Adelaide. I have just read your information re Henry Taylor.

One of the things you asked was "What does the area TL stand for?

My gggrandfather came to South Australia 1855. His name was Denis Brophy.  .

Denis settled in a place called Millendella, which is very close to Mount Pleasant.  He is buried in the Mount Peasant Cemetery.

Mount Pleasant is a lovely little town, in the are called TALUNGA.

Hope the above helps a bit.

Regards

Twinkleberry.

Yes, Twinkleberry again!!!!

I have just looked up information on some of the areas where your Taylor family may have lived, and have found some information from the
book "Place Names of South Australia" by Geoffrey Manning.  The following is what I found:-

SALT CREEK. - North of Tumby Bay, North of Cowell Bay, nowhere near Mount Pleasant.  Information found on page 277 of Manning's Book.

PEWSEY VALE  On the bounday of the Barossa Valley.  page 247

TIERS  Forests of the Mount Lofty Ranges, page 310

TALUNGA County of Adelaide.  The name is an aboriginal word for "Creek

TRURO  48km north east of Gawler.  page 314.

Hoping this may be of some interest.

Having spent many a visit to Mount Pleasant since a young teenage girl, I would strongly suggest your information should be the area of "Talunga"

Regards

Twinkleberry
