Hi

There is an Ada Elizabeth Ask registered in Goole (Yorkshire) in the September qtr of 1875 - this would have made her 16 at the time of the marriage!  Do you think she might have lied about her age?  I can't see another one on 1872/3.

The UK BMD indexes can be viewed free on Ancestry.co.uk.

THe likeliest girl I see in 1891 is this one (not much help):

1891
RG12/727 42 32
Margate, Kent
1 Sandringham (something)

Ada Aske, serv, 17, General servant domestic, b. Hampshire Portsmouth

in the household of Mary J (or I) Bayne, 52, living on own means.

Fits in nicely with her age in 1901 and on the marriage cert  :)

This is wierd!

The only one I can find in 1881 is:

Ada E ASKE, d/o George & Christiana, aged 5, born Goole, living Lower Cross Street, Goole.

This Ada is with her parents in 1891.

Websl
Does the marriage cert give Ada's fathers name.

Charles's naval record can be downloaded from the National Archives website. http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/   It appears he was born 27 February 1866.  It also appears their son Charles served in the Navy as well, date of birth 2 July 1896.
