Many thanks for the links.  

What I find really frustrating about old pedigrees that one comes across in various works (Burke's for example) is that they rarely give specific details about the event their relating.

I've just discovered - via the IGI - that Bridget Egerton married Ralph Thicknesse at Farthinghoe in 1674.  Burke's say 1663.

Do you have the exact date of Sir John's burial at Madeley? Must have missed it when I looked first time round.

Hi Jayson

I visited Swynnerton churchyard and found no Swinnerton headstones. However there are quite a few that I could not read. It is possible some of your deceased may be amongst them.  I do revisit the churches that I have been to, and some time I am able to read the inscription if I catch the sun in the right position

Are there any other sites they me be buried and do you have any other names you want me to keep a look out for when I am on my travels

Thanks for your kind offer.  If you ever get chance to visit Madeley churchyard that would be great.  Many of my Bayley ancestors were buried there.  James Bayley was buried there in 1704, and his son and grandson (both called Weston Bayley) are there too.  I'm also interested the Revd Thomas Barlow who vicar of Madeley from 1746 to about 1779.

I have been to Madeley and noted some inscriptions, but none of your names. In the next week or so I will go back and have a look for you. I need to update the site I send my MI's to.
 The butterton church (there are two in Staffordshire) I can only asume the one near Newcastle, there are no graves just a church and a few cremations (modern ones)
