Seeking Robert W Chant b circa 1855/1856
and family in 1871 census

Robert was born Holborn, Middlesex, London age 5 in 1861
and 25 in 1881. Occupation Mason

Father Robert Chant b 1833 Sherborne Dorset Harness Maker/Saddler died pre 1881.

Mother Eliza(beth) Chant b 1834 Sherborne, Dorset
widow in 1881

No siblings in 1861
Bunter, Chant, Hyle, Noakes, Rogers - Sherborne, Dorset

Hi, Robert Wilfred Chant was reg Dec qtr 1855 Holborn  Ref 1b 419
Birth certificate will give mothers maiden name and fathers occupation.

10 Kilburn Priory Hampstead St John  London 
Elizabeth Chant  40  Sherborne, Dorset,  Domestic Servant  Married
Robert W Chant  15  St Andrews, Middlesex,  Servant  at a chemist

Though Elizabeth is indicating she is married there is a possibility she was a widow by 1871, or perhaps her marriage had 'broken up'. If Robert senior was around, as a 'singleton' he would be harder to find.
