In short, I have good records on him from 1861 to 1914, but not for his first 20 or so years. Every few weeks I go to library to look for him on the 1841 and 1851 Censuses on Ancestry, but I come home empty handed. This is what I know about what I DON'T know:
----
Yorkshire Birth Index 1838: Leeds North/Leeds: NORT/4/112
This George LAMB's father is NOT William - and I gather this is the same one as this GRO entry (Births Dec 1838: LAMB George: Leeds/23/364)
----
1841 Census: He's NOT George LAMB, son of John and Sarah, in Burley
----
1851 Census: He's not George LAMB, 14, spindle maker, at 36 Wellington Terrace, New Parish of Saint Andrew, Leeds - this one is also son of John and Sarah
----
What can I do?
