« on: Wednesday 26 July 06 12:58 BST (UK) »
I am looking for information on my grgrand, Edward Inwood b 16 sep 1821, Steeple Claydon, Bucks.
I need his parents and siblings.
He married Catherine Madkins, b abt 1825, Padbury, Bucks..married 25 dec 1844.
By 1849 they were in Canada.
I would appreciate all help as I live in USA and do not have access to UK files

Welcome rootie!
I am going to move your post over to the Bucks LOOKUP REQUESTS board, where I am sure that other RootsChatters will be able to help.

Best Wishes
Rick :)

Hi

There is nothing on the IGI or BVRI re: his birth/christening.  The 1841 has an Edward Inwood but he was b 1801

A copy of his marriage cert will at least give you his fathers name and occupation

Edward Inwood December qtr  1844  Buckinghamshire Oxfordshire  Volume: 6  Page: 654

I found this child on the 1851 living with grandparents James 55 and Susanna 54.  In view of the birthplace, I wondered whether James and Susanna could have been Edwards parents?

Census area was Steeple Claydon.  All surname Inwood

James 55 ag Labourer b Swanbourne Bucks
Susanna  54 ? birthplace
James 16 Steeple C
Jane 18 Steeple C
William 14 b Steeple C
Tryphila?  granddaughter b Bucks
Thomas Edward grandson b Steeple Claydon

Hi Rootie

The marriage cert will only show his fathers name and occupation.  You can order online at www.gro.gov.uk using the reference December qtr  1844  Buckinghamshire Oxfordshire  Volume: 6  Page: 654

Good luck - I hope it's them

I found this marriage on the IGI - James & Susanna were still alive in 1861 and that census shows her birthplace as Oxon (which is short for Oxford) Blackthorn

JAMES INWOOD

Marriages:  SUSANNA COX    Marriage:  1816   Ambrosden, Oxford, England

Here is the Madkins family on the 1841 census living in Padbury Bucks.  All surname Madkins and all b Bucks except Elizabeth

William 49  no occupation shown
Elizabeth 56  not b Bucks
Mary   18
Sarah 21
Catherine 15

Living a few doors away was this Madkins family - all b Bucks

Elizabeth 17
Hannah 20
Mary 50
Robert 20
Thomas 51
William 23
