This is a real long shot on my part but.........Does anyone have any links into BOWER's in Sheffield.

I have a Laura BOWER, b. Q1 (Jan-Mar) 1904, Sheffield. Died (in childbirth) as Laura FARNSWORTH, Q2 (Apr-June) 1925, Sheffield.

Spouse - Colin Neil  FARNSWORTH, married Q3 (Jul-Sept), Sheffield.

Child Joan Farnsworth, b. Q2 (Apr-June) 1925, Sheffield. May have been raised as Joan BOWER.......??

I am really keen to establish who Laura's parents were & what happened to Joan?

my grandmother is Marilyn Farnsworth born in 1934. i'm going to follow your post. i'm trying to find information on farnsworth family. this is interesting. Although my grandmother adopted any information would help me.

Can't really help, but you might like to keep this for future reference, from my other half's family tree:

Bradfield church 17th April 1871
Joseph Brammall   bachelor   29   Filesmith   Gate   John Brammall   Filesmith
Mary Bower   spinster   19      Gate   Benjamin Bower   Shoemaker
Witnesses: Jonathan Bower & Charlotte Hill   

Mary was the daughter of Benjamin (born Bradfield) and Mary Ann (born Dore, then in Derbyshire). 
Mary and Joseph Bramall lived at Wadsley, Sheffield.  She had an illegitimate daughter Alberta Bower Bramall.

Might be worth saving for future reference.
