Looks to me like Plevery. It is a name which does exist. If you Google Plevery it will give some info.

Me again
I have looked on the Canadian Soldiers of the 1st World War site
Granddad 's details I already have
The other two chaps in the photo I am pretty sure I have found   :)
but  a George PLEVERY is not on there..
So I think maybe it was written as it sounded?

Tried loads of variations  Palfrey  Pulver and similar no luck

Any suggestions?  Thank you.

 It looks like h
Hevers to me too, or Plevers  P. Levers?

I notice the writer misses fragments of letters as he writes quickly. On 'George' he drops the top of the 'g' after the 'r'. Likewise he drops part of a letter 'y'  in 'myself'. so maybe its Plevery.

It is possible perhaps that the first stroke of the first letter could be strong because he is striking out something underneath ( that looks like the loop on a 'P') if that is the case, it could be 'Henry' but I would think as he is writing his own name he would not make a mistake.
