Wandsworth suffered particularly in WW11.

Check out: www.CWGC

as civillians are listed there too...also ask the Birmingham listers if anyone has a trade directory 1946 or so?  You may be able to find an address - try the local history library in Solihull too?

Hi Cathy,
I have contacted Birmingham and Sulihull library to look in Pigot's trade directories late 1930's-40's, no record.
I have also posted on Solihull-online, memories 1940's, no luck yet.
I have also contacted undertakers in Melvern with out getting a response. In addition Probate.

www.CWGC ? is that war graves commision?
Thanks for your help,
Reg

Yes that is Commonwealth Graves - and they do list civilian casualties too.

There is also a site called ''missing you'' which also helps people put in touch with each other but also looks for recent dead folk.. if I were you I would try everything - because I guess there is someone out there who knows...

Have you obtained the 1988 death certificate? That would give you an address and details of the informant
