Waller Family, Todwick and Aston
« on: Friday 21 July 06 08:31 BST (UK) »
I am struggling with this family.

John Waller christened 28 MAR 1784  at Todwick  and Betty Waller christened 11 MAY 1788 at Todwick. The mother of both was Hannah Waller. There is no father's name for either, would this indicate that they were illegitimate?

I have found Johns family on all census' living at Aston but can't find anything more about Betty.

It is possible that Hannah worked at Aston Hall, how would I go about finding out whether or not she did?

Thanks

Hi,  There are Waller families still living around Todwick, Kiveton Park Station and Thorpe Salvin . The Wallers at Thorpe Salvin were Smallholders. try the census for Kiveton Park Parish of Wales.   gales

Hi there - I am interested in the Waller family from this area on behalf of my F-I-L who is a Smith from Shirebrook Sheffield; his mother was the daughter of Walter Waller and he was evacuated to Todwick during WW2.

Any information would be gratefully received.

Hi Wispymisty,

I will help if I can, although I have stopped researching the Waller family as the gentleman I was helping, sadly died last year.

I wll have a look through my notes though and see if I can find anything that might be of use to you. Can you give me a few more details ( PM me if you want to keep names etc private) as I know of at least 3 Walter Wallers.

Hope I can help.

Hi wispymisty and welcome to rootschat
Just to say that you will need two posts before our personal message system works.   Reply to this and you will then be able to click on the green scroll under Woolspinster's name and send a private message.  We are very careful not to give any details of living or recently deceased people on rootschat.
