Hi both
I am not convinved that the pm will have got through as wimpac only has one post.   It needs at least 2 posts to activate the system.    Reply here and it should work then.

Thanks for the note, we seem to be tracing the same family.  My Waller grandparents were Walter Waller and Ellen Mycroft of Todwick.   First time I have used Rootschat and it appears I have to have two posts before contact can be made.  Trusting this works.  Janet

I am struggling with this family.

John Waller christened 28 MAR 1784  at Todwick  and Betty Waller christened 11 MAY 1788 at Todwick. The mother of both was Hannah Waller. There is no father's name for either, would this indicate that they were illegitimate?

I have found Johns family on all census' living at Aston but can't find anything more about Betty.

It is possible that Hannah worked at Aston Hall, how would I go about finding out whether or not she did?

Thanks
Hi Woolspinster, I have just received Genealogical information about my mothers family of Wallers on her mothers side:
John Waller b.17(8?)74 and his wife Mary Gascoigne who lived and owned the Conduit Farm near Todwick about a half a mile to Aston Common and Hardwick Lane, from Todwick near the  M1 where the family ran a Market Garden on about 30 acres of property so I don't know if by English standards if it was a large Holding or Small. this property passed into Aurthur Wallers wife's family when she passed away into her nieces family who were named either Smith, or Fisher

Hi Wimpac, I was wondering if you have any information about one of Walter's b.1853 brothers that went to Canada and came back to England just as the War was starting but could not get back to Canada as he had left his car at Halifax NS. so he moved to the Midlands Burmingham and got another farm there and did not get back to Canada. he had two sons with him or they came shortly after him and they went back to Canada after WWII.  apparently they drove to Halifax from wherever they lived but nobody knows where they went back too?
Also there are a Family? of Wallers who live at a farm on Hardwick Lane on the Left side going up Northward about half way up Hardwick Lane with the Initials H&G.   This farm my Mom said used to Fisher Farm where Cis's Husband Billie Walshaw's family Lived?  I would like to email you but I guess my last post got to you personally as I don't see it posted on the Forum?

Pete

Hi Anstonville,

I posted a long reply a few days ago using personal message.  However it appears I received my own reply back.
A second personal message was sent today giving you my email address.
Hopefully we will get somewhere eventually.
Regards, Wimpac
