Baker family from Hastings
« on: Wednesday 19 July 06 18:43 BST (UK) »
Trying to find information about Frederick Baker born 1835 in Hastings, Sussex. I have found no record of him in the 1841 or 1851 census for England and unfortunately can't find out his parents names. I know that he appeared on the 1871 census married to Mary Carey from Newport, Monmouthshire but where he was before that is a mystery. If anyone has the census for Sussex and could find this information I would be very grateful. Thanks, Val

Hi Val,
on the 1841 there are 2 Frederick Bakers born about 1836 living in Sussex but not Hastings.  With such a common name I would think it would be a good idea in investing in purchasing the marriage certificate that will give you his parents names & his age, otherwise you're likely to go barking up the wrong tree  ;)
