The information I have came from Nora Elizabeth Elizabeth who married Goerge Hannah and lived until recently in Larne. I corresponded with her for some time and she came to Australia for a visit. Athough keen to write and visit she had almost no other information to add to that I have reproduced below. Hope it helps

Thomas McConnell (c1856-27 June 1943) m. Martha (name listed as McConnell)
1. Lillian McConnell (2 Jan.1878 Larne-3 Dec.1941).
2. James Edgar McConnell (13 Nov.1879 Larne-14 Dec.1901).
3. Thomas Walter McConnell (10 Feb.1882 Larne-Feb.1967).

Then, there are 2 other children for Thomas McConnell and Martha (but should wife be Maggie?):
1. Thomas Allen McConnell (16 Apr.1915 Larne-14 Oct.1915).
2. Walter McConnell (6 June 1918 Larne-20 Jan.1919).

I guess it indicates that I was searching the wrong side of the ocean.  Too bad Nora did not have locations to go with the dates.  Then we would know when that family returned to Ireland.

I made a visit to our local FHC to check the civil reg. indexes and here are some results for the above family as posted by njn123:

James McConnell death in 1874 in Larne Reg. Dist. (ref. 11-439), aged 44.
Eliza McConnell death in 1 Qtr 1881 in Larne Reg. Dist. (ref 2-539), aged 52.
Eliza McConnell death in 1873 in Larne R. D. (6-480), aged 20.
James McConnell death in 1 Qtr 1885 in Larne R. D. (1-501), aged 27.
William John McConnell death in 1869 in Larne R. D. (6-496), aged 1.

FYI, the first William John McConnell (1851-1854) died and is buried in Colebrook, NH, USA.

Wow, thanks for the 1911 information.  I was able to locate Thomas McConnell in Larne and he was born in America about 1856!

I am also a direct descendant of William and Letitia (>6th child Thomas >3rd child John >1st child William >4th child Stewart> 3rd child me!) So William is my great great great grandfather.

I have a photo of the McConnells outside of their family home in Drumnadreagh County Antrim, C 1910. (Well that's what the caption says!)
