Which regiment?
« on: Sunday 16 July 06 20:50 BST (UK) »
I'm new and just found this area of interest.  My father had an older brother, Percy Hugh, who was killed in India in the 1920's, at least that is what I have been told.  The family lived in Portholland, Cornwall in the early 1900's.  In which army regiment would he most likely have served?  I would like to find out when he was killed and where buried.

Thanks, but I get "no match" there, I think because he was killed between the two world wars.

His next of kin (with proof) can apply for his service records. You will need as much information as you can get first. Date of birth will be the first thing, do you know that? If not you can look on Ancestry and get enough information from there to send for his birth certificate. This is the website for Army records.http://www.veteransagency.mod.uk/service_records/service_records.html

Thanks.  Yes, I have what I think is the correct location from Free BMD, but haven't ordered the certificate yet.  Thanks again.
