Hugh family
« on: Sunday 16 July 06 20:19 BST (UK) »
I am new at this, but so far have traced back to my g-great grandfather Henry, in the Creed/Grampound area.  Am also trying to tie up some loose ends in my fathers family, located in Portholland in the early 1900's.  He had an older brother, Percy, who was killed in India, I believe in the 1920's.  I would like to find out where he was buried, but it seems I need to know the regiment in which he was enlisted.  What would be the army regiment in which he was most likely enlisted?

www.1837online.com has the overseas death indexes, which should include the death of Percy.

You might find the Genuki page for Creed/Grampound useful:

Thank you very much.  I found him on the 1837 site.  He was killed in Bangalore in 1921 at age 20.  Do you know how I could get a copy of the death certificate?

You can obtain the death certificate through http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/ , it works the same as other bmd certificates.
