My daughter has had  mouse mats printed with family photos and used those as "fun" presents.

How about a birth brief for your sister?

Love the idea about the mouse mats! Didnt know you could do those!

Think I'll leave that till Christmas though for the rest of the family other wise will struggle to get it all done!

All the best

Daughter does them using the internet; very quick results.  Would you like details?

Daughter back home; I've sent details on a pm to you just in case it was "advertising".

I haven't any new useful ideas to contribute. I just wanted to say that you've got a great gift idea for your sister! Good luck and let us know which options you went with for her birthday gift.

Just to let you all know.  My sister's present was a great success.  The tree came out brilliantly although rather large ( about 20 feet long) and she has now pinned it up around the walls in her spare bedroom!

I did discs for People which included photographs which I split into folders with a "family" in each; Sources with copies of the Censuses etc; and Places where I managed to get details of where the ancestors lived with pictures of the villages and churches concerned. My family tree programme also provided a fourth disc with a written version of the family tree as well.

It will take her a month of Sundays to go through but she was thrilled.

Thank you all for your suggestions.
