Hi Carol

I can tell you that there were houses in Hawkins Lane in 1957 as I lived there with mum and dad at 226 Hawkins Lane. Mum said we lived there for less than a year - dad worked on the railways and I think that maybe they owned some of the houses in Hawkins Lane. Perhaps the reason we moved was because they were going to pull the housese down?

Cheers

Lilian

Thanks for that information Lillian. I have not looked at this part of family for a long time now but you have now renewed my interest. I will have to try the 1911 census when I have some spare cash ( xmas is coming.......) and see if I can find them again. Cheers Carol
