"DIXIE INN ", Horninglow
« on: Wednesday 12 July 06 19:49 BST (UK) »
1891 and 1901 censuses have

Thomas and Anna Hammond  beer house keepers at

Dixie Inn, 21, Hawkins Lane,Horninglow,Burton on Trent.

Does anyone have any information on this Inn? Is it still standing or any other information about Inn or the people ???

Anna was my grandfather James Simpson cousin ;D Well I think that's the connection ;D

Any help appreciated as I do not know what became of them
 Thanks Carol

Hi,

I live in Burton on Trent and Hawkins Lane is now mainly industrial units. There are certainly no houses or pubs down there.   I did find this http://www.biffo.net/history/pubsaz.htm which indicates that it was still in use in 1911.

Hope this helps?

I've come back to this family after a rest ???

Wondered if anyone has access to records of this area . :D

Trying to find out if Anna and Thomas had children or if they died in this area.

Any help greatly appreciated. Anna maiden name was Simpson if thats of use to anyone.

Cheers Carol
