Living in the household of John Chester as lodgers.

7 Stones Bldgs., Manchester

James Williams 57, Cotton Spinner
Susan 57
Eliza 28, dau, Unm
Susan 6m, g/daughter

Can't see a match for these in 1861.

Sheila

PS - There is also a death on FreeBMD - Sarah Gilmore, Manchester Dec Q 1851.  Think you are going to have to invest in John and Susan/Susannah's marriage cert to clarify John's fathers name.

Hi Mags hi all

Mags it looks like we are researching the same Gilmores.  I have a John James Gimore married to Susannah Williams.  I have traced his parents back to Thomas Gilmore 1796 ish.

Please reply

Hi Mags

Ok John James Gilmore born c1851 in Manchester married Susannah William/s in 22 Sep 1878 Manchester, Gorton, St. James.
This is where I have him living on censuses
1861-33 Piercy Street, Manchester -
1871-1 Grimes Street, Manchester - boarder -Bricklayer
1881-26 Libby Street, Manchester - Bricklayer Builder
1891-4 Cathcart Street, Manchester - General Labourer

This is where I have her living in censuses when married.
1881-26 Libby Street, Manchester -
1891-4 Cathcart Street, Manchester -
1901-13 Raglan Street, Droylsden - Still married, not widow and Sarah, her daughter, now Thomas and married is living with her with her husband.

They had at least 8 children living with them born between 1872 and 1890 but I have a feeling that the first 4 were either born out of wedlock (unlikely) or they are not Susannah's.  Hope this is useful and enlightens you.
