1841/1851 Census - Wakefield Family, Stamford
« on: Monday 10 July 06 02:48 BST (UK) »
I would appreciate it very much if someone can tell me if a James and Elizabeth Wakefield are recorded at Stamford or nearby in the 1841 or 1851 census.  I have a marriage for an Elizabeth Luff to James Wakefield at St Georges Church, Stamford on 13 March, 1834.

Hi Marcgenie

Do you have dates of birth for James and Elizabeth?

I found a James and Elizabeth in Woolsthorpe but their first couple of children were born before 1834.

Dear Kerry
Thank you for taking time to reply to my query.  Elizabeth Luff was born in 1814 at Stamford, Lincolnshire.  She was baptised there on 12 December, 1814.  She married James Wakefield at Stamford on 13 March, 1834.

Hi Marc

I can find no other James and Elizabeth Wakefield's in Lincolnshire apart from these two.
1841
HO107/624/18 5 11
Living in Woolsthorpe village
James Wakefield, age 35 Ag Lab
Elizabeth Wakefield, age 30
Robert Wakefield, age 9
Ann Wakefield, age 8
Eliza Wakefield, age 5
James Wakefield, age 2

All born in county

But the ages of the children don't fit at 1834 marriage??

No sorry, I have tried searching on all counties but nothing is coming up that fits this couple.  Do you know if they had any children?
