Did this family stay in Coatbridge?
« on: Saturday 08 July 06 17:55 BST (UK) »
Hi All

Could anyone tell me how I can find out if a family stayed in Coatbridge after 1901 census?

I can't find my Campbell family that lived in Coats St in 1901, after that date. Have searched deaths and tried emigration but am completely stuck. ???

Are there directories, or electoral rolls?

I am in southern England so not able to visit record offices personally.

Would be grateful for help and advice.

Many thanks
Erika :)

There are electoral rolls on Ancestry.com.  I have noticed there are 'Campbell's in Coats Street after 1930s.

The only Campbell in 1895 for Coats St is this Francis in 1905 and there after until 1935 is for Dundyvan Rd not sure if any these others are relevant to your search.

Since the original post in 2006 both the 1911 and 1921 censuses have become available.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.
