On the National Archives of Aust website you will also find Edgar and William Morrow (Albert's brothers) war service records, etc.

Hi

I don't know if your still following this item of inquiry, however i grew up in dumbleyung and have several books on the area. I just looked up one and found a pic of the Morrow family, father and sons. It appears 3 boys left the farm to fight in WW1. If you are still interested I can look up my other Dumbleyung books.

Thanks for your message - it was indeed a surprise and also serendipidous!
Yes, I am still interested in the Morrow family - especially a photo/picture of Albert.  Another member of Rootschat was very kind to send some pictures (some time ago) - possibly the one you mentioned (if it has Mr Morrow on the extreme right and Tony next to him) but it must have been taken after they returned home from the War - no Albert!
As Albert was only a teenager when he enlisted - if there are any photos of him he would be very young.
I will be grateful for any further help.

Photo of Albert and his brother William.  Albert is the shorter of the two.  You may be interested in the book "Iron in the Fire" which was written by my Grandfather Edgar Morrow (Albert's brother).  The book is about Edgar's experiences during the war - the dedication reads "To my wife, and my parents and in memory of Albert, my brother".  The photo on front of the book is the one I have attached here.

Just thought of something else you may be interested in although I guess it depends on why you are looking for the information.  It is believed that Albert was one of the last men killed at Gallipoli.  Also he grew up in Dongolocking not Dumbleyung.
