« on: Monday 03 July 06 10:43 BST (UK) »
Hi there

looking for some family information on this family before
they emigrated to Australia in 1858.

Susannah STEVENS b. 18 Apr 1836 Surrey (probably Southwark)
child of William STEVENS (bootmaker) and Susannah

She married James BOREHAM in 1854 in Southwark Surrey.
He was born in Leigh Lancaster abt 1806 to William BOREHAM & Elizabeth.

help would be appreciated.
thankyou

cheers

The only Susannah I can find born to a William is in Chevening, Kent, same in 1841.

but interestingly i have Susannah marrying James Boreham in the Jul/Aug/Sept qtr of 1855...not 54, St George Southwark, ref 1d 167.

thanks Denise,

Looking at my records I had 2 dates for the marriage. 1854
from one source and 20 Oct 1855 at St George. Would that
have still been registered in that quarter I wonder....

I only have her death certificate from Australia with the
details on in nothing more.

Were there others living with them in Kent ? Might be
family names etc ?

thanks
Vonnie

I'm at work at the moment so i'll have another look at home tonight when i have access to all the records - but an October wedding wouldn't have been backdated on the register so something isn't quite right there.  Probably best to order the certificate to double check, i'd have thought.

Will post further details tonight.

All in Chevening, Kent, 15 Chipstead Village.

Sorry I assumed William was the father in my earlier post but he's not he's the eldest son...

Thanks Denise. This may be her as sometimes death certificates can be wrong. I know this isn't the right forum but how do I go about obtaining a marriage certificate for
that era ?

Chipstead looks like the same place in Surrey/Kent.
Maybe a change of county borders happened. Still a long
way from Southwark however.

cheers
