1841 & 51 Lookup pls - Long
« on: Wednesday 28 June 06 13:05 BST (UK) »
Hi there

Would you kindly see if there is any trace of William & Sarah Long in or around West Tarring in the 1841 or 1851 census?

There were two Sarah Youngs in West Tarring in the early 1800s:
#1 b 24 Nov 1788 Durrington, 3rd daughter of James Young & Elizabeth French;
#2 b 1783  West Tarring, daughter of John & Rebecca French (I think!)

One married William Bushby 20 May 1801, the other William Long in 1806 both in West Tarring.

Other family connections have found the Bushbys in 1841 but not 1851 so I'm hoping to find the Longs in both to establish which is which  ???

Thanks, Jane

Thanks for that Alli.  Wasn't as usefull as I had hoped but there you go.  No shortage of Bushbys 'though!

I haven't found the William & Sarah Long's deaths in the IGI.  Guess I'll have to try the BMD or NBI.

Cheers, Jane

But why didn't they realise it would make everything so much easier for us all if they'd just stay put!  No consideration these ancestors!
