May I take advantage of your kind offer.? I  Rarely write in but, do wander through your request.

Great Uncle Robert Hollis, from Derby/Wrexham,Liverpool.
Sorry Iwish I could be more positive. Landed in Australia became a sheep shearer.
I have a photo of him in Uniform during.after WW1. It appear he emigrated after the War ended.
Does not appear to marry.
Thank you for any assistance in this jig-saw puzzle.

Could you please look up in Victoria Death Records after 1926:

Lewis MORGAN b 1896 Fife Scotland and his two sons, who apparently died young.
Lewis MORGAN and Robert MORGAN both born Scotland.

Thank you
Robert Morgan

I was wondering if you could possibly look up a death record for William Stewart Houston born 12.05.1916.  I have been unable to find a record of his death.

Many thanks

Hi I am new to this site.  I am going to try and take advantage of your kind offer.
I have a Thomas and Richard Galbraith born 1834 in County Down, Ireland.  They went to Australia (I don't know when) and were believed to be still alive in the 1890's around Sydney, Australia.  I believe that they were residing together and were sheep farmers and may never have married.  I don't know if this area is available to be looked up by you, but I thought that I would try anyway.  Kind regards, James from Canada.

Please could you do a look up for me too? I would be very grateful.

My great great Unlce Edward (Ted) SAMUEL and his wife Mary Jessie (nee Holborn) emigrated with their children to Wollongong, NSW. Also with them was Edward's brother William (Bill) SAMUEL and his wife Thyer and their children.  Unfortunatley, I don't know the exact year they left but it was between 1910 and 1920.  (Edward and Mary have been found on 1921 Electoral roll as living at Rosemont St., Wollongong).
Can't find William and Thyer at all.
I would like to know when they died if at all possible.  It's a big ask, I know and if the years to cover are to much then thanks anyway.

If you could verify this info i would be greatful. Also if you could look up Elizabeths birth and her parents.I think her father was John Semmens.I understand she was very young at the time they married. thanks for your help

Hello again - Not much to report I am afraid, it will have to keep till I can get to town to the library and check shipping for you. It appears that Elizabeth was not born here either...no record of her birth or of her fathers marriage here. With a name like Semmens I would suspect the ladyis likely Cornish also...funnily enough I did see a lot of Semmons while I was looking for Hannah in Crowan!...Hopefully the shipping records should help. Here is what I have for u anyway

William Gay (Son of William) 27 years= Elizabeth Sarah Semmons (Daughter of John) 16 years 5 Sep 1885 at All Saints Church Moonto Dist Dal b 144 p 277

Children

1. Beatrice Mary Gay b 13 Apr 1886 Moonto Mines Dist Dal b 370 p 429

2. William Gay b 7 Oct 1887 Moonta Mines Dist Dal b 405 p 99

3. Gladys Bianca b 31 Jul 1890 Moonta Mines Dist Dal b 462 p 353

4. Cynthia Correze b 23 Nov 1892 Moonta Mines Dist Dal b 510 p 436

That is all there is here.... there is no Death for William or Elizabeth or any of the children and no marriages for any of the children either. Since you are in New South I can only assume that they werent here long and packed up and moved on.

Hope this helps
Kris

Hi
I hoping that you may be able to help me??
I have been searching for the last 2 years for details of my Great Uncle Ellis Spencer.
He was born in Nantwich Cheshire England in 1880,
I know where he was in 1891 he was still living in Cheshire but then he dissapears from trace. He is not lsited on the 1901 census.
He is listed on the CWGC as dying in WW1 in 1917,at the time he was serving in the Austalian Trench Mortar Battery .
We have a photograph of Ellis in a bush Hat which ties in with what my Grandfather Albert used to say about his Brother. So I am assuming he emigrated sometime between 1891 and 1901.My grandad said he married and went to live abroad.
Any help you could give me would be appreciated.
Regards
cheryl

Cheryl

If you search the roll of honour at the Aust War memorial you will find his record.
http://www.awm.gov.au/database/roh.asp

He enlisted at Wellington Mills, WA. Sadly I do not have access to WA BDM records, but will check for links. This is WA Genealogy Soc
http://www.wags.org.au/index.html

I haven't been able to find him in the Australian Archives search which is very strange. Check this link and see if you can find him.
http://naa12.naa.gov.au/scripts/ResearcherScreen.asp
If you can they have a service whereby for no charge they put the records online. This can give lots of information including next of kin. You can also pay for a printed copy of the records by mail.
If you can't find him either, send an email to the archives - they will respond within 30 days and there is no charge for the query.
