Hi Izzy

NSW records can be searched online for deaths & marriages to 1945, births to 1905.
http://www.bdm.nsw.gov.au/cgi-bin/Index/IndexingOrder.cgi/search?event=marriages

There appears to be only one Rossini marriage between 1920 & 1945.
Marie J Rossini married Clarence S Brazier in 1932.

Does your mother have any idea of her sisters married name?

Cheers
Genni

Hi Izzy

This website lists Clarence S Brazier in their website.

http://users.cyberelectric.net.au/~rhbudden/

An email to them may prove helpful.

I have found a reference on the WW1 embarkation Roll for a Howard Arthur WEBSTER son of Charles H & Martha Webster.
The address given is 2 Hewlwtt Street, Bronte.
Do you have any idea of who Martha Rossini married and when.
I note Martha wasn't born at the time of the 1881 census but her brothers were.
Do you know when she was born.  Has your mother got any old photos sent from Australia.

Cheers
Genni

If you search the roll of honour at the Aust War memorial you will find his record.

Trish

Thanks to your message (to Cheryl) and the above link, I managed to locate one of my ancestors, Frank Archibald GREENE, who died in France on 6th May 1917.

The information given by his Father on the form, 'Particulars Required for the Roll of Honour of Australia in the Memorial War Museum' are extremely poignant and have helped to fill a blank in my research.

I had been under the impression that he and his family had travelled to Australia in 1905 (based on information from a distant relative) when, in fact according to the details given by his Father, they travelled there in 1913. Incidentally, I found what I thought was a 'match' on the CWGC site but, at that time, I was unaware that the family had emigrated to Australia, so discounted the information. That'll teach me!!   ;o)

Do you by any chance have any links to sites that might offer additional information - marriages, deaths, etc. - of Frank's siblings/parents? According to the details on the Form, the family lived in Claremont, Western Australia.

Thank you again for the link.

Best wishes

Lyn S

If you could help me it would be most appreciated.  I am looking for Samuel Udall who travelled out on the Aberdeen to Sydney Australia in 1884 the ship arriving in Sydney in 1884 with his wife Sarah.  I have been led to believe that Samuel died soon after reaching Australia.  He would have been about 67/68.  He was born in the IOW Hampshire and his mothers name was Hannah and his fathers name Samuel.  I have with the online Births deaths and marriages found Sarah who died in 1893 (124/1893).

I have also located a William P (Pitman) Udall who died (3760/1906) who I think is their son. Is it possible to find out his age.  The William I am looking for was born in Kent in 1842.
Udall  Isle of Wight/Hants?Dorset
Streeton  Croxton Kerrial, Leicestershire

How incredibly gracious of you to make such a kind offer.  I'm sure you are inundated at the moment, but when you have an opportunity and are so inclined, I'm interested in picking up the trail of Thomas Flaherty, of Co. Limerick, Ireland, who, in 1852  was sentenced to 14 years transportation for "cow stealing."  If there is a way to determine whether he arrived in Australia alive, or there are any other signs of his trail on the databases available to you, I would be forever grateful.
Thank you

Hi MKK,
The details of the trial of Thomas are as you have stated, the only extra I could find was the date of the trial, 16th Oct 1849.
Sentence was 15 years transportation.

The only Thomas Flaherty of that time I could find was the following.
Thomas FLAHERTY married Catherine DRENNAN, Sydney, 1866.
Cert # 98
This couple had only one child as far as I can see.
Frederick J FLAHERTY born 1869, Glebe,NSW Cert #3439

Glebe is an inner suburb of Sydney, just in case your not in Oz.

There is a death registration for Thomas FLAHERTY 1886, Sydney,NSW, cert # 1896
Parents listed as Timothy & Catherine.,

Don't know if these are your FLAHERTY'S, but as I said, they are the only one's in the right time frame.

Cheers

Thank you so kindly.  This gives a couple of clues about this Thomas and how he might tie into my long line of Thomas Flahertys.  Another square of the puzzle!
