Hello

I noticed you have an index for early Bounty Immigrants to NSW.

Some of my ancestors arrived very early c1800-1815 as convicts and
making up the gen tree has introduced some strays.  I have been advised that the Scots Church of Sydney had a bounty scheme in operation and this could help explain some oddbods. ???

Are you able to advise if the name Melville (Scots) appears.
Place of origin would have been Larnarkshire

On the COE side I have mystery Goddard
Place of origin would have been parish Shoreditch...Whitechapel, London

I found a whole host of rellies by fluke on a website re the Maitland that arrived in 1838 and thru this I discovered about 4 families all related.  They were the Wenhams Marshalls and Chapmans.
The Maitland carried those from areas like Beneden & Rolvenden in Kent

http://www.fairhall.id.au/maitland.htm

I noticed you have Bates in your surname interests would they be
around Singleton and Bingara NSW?
Also Whelan, mine are concentrated in Tasmania.

regards
Rosalie

Hi,

I have been searching unsuccessfully in NZ for a marriage between Arthur Augustus Percy DYETT and Margaret Ann O'SHANASSY (or variant).

Two children were born in Victoria - Flora Virginia DYETT, 1892 and Louisa May DYETT in 1893. Both of these appear on the Victorian Indexes and their birth certificates state that the parents married in Hastings NZ and one has a date of 28 October 1890 on it.

There is a high probability that Margaret was living in Melbourne at that time (she had been in care at St Vincent de Paul , South Melbourne in 1883-85) and a chance that the marriage took place in Melbourne circa 1890. The family returned to NZ in 1894.

Any help is most appreciated.

regards

Bruce

Hi,

I was wondering whether some kind person could see if they can find anything on the following family?  I do not know which part of Australia they went to though, could be NSW but not certain.

I know they were all born in Ore in Sussex England, they were still living in Sussex at the time of the 1901 census but apparently left for Australia sometime after the death of Isabella's husband STEPHEN THOMAS WILLETT. Stephen died in Sussex in June 1901.

ISABELLA JANE WILLETT (nee Gallop) born c1863 in Ore died c 1938

WALTER WILLIAM WILLETT born 1887 in Ore died c1960

FREDERICK THOMAS WILLETT born 1894 in Ore died c1956

NELLIE MELISSA WILLETT born 1890 in Ore died c1964 (married name could be Gardener)

REGINALD CHARLES WILLETT born 1896 in Ore died c1979

FRANK ERNEST WILLETT born 1898 in Ore died c1980

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,
Blue

Any chance of tracing a James Fowler aged about 15 who emigrated to Australia probably somewhere between 1948 and 1955. He was with his mother and stepfather. Unfortunately I do not have his mother's new surname but she was a Catherine Robertson before she married Robert Fowler, James' father, who died.
