lost family
« on: Monday 26 June 06 15:23 BST (UK) »
???Trying  to  locate  families  of  James  Dickson  and  Janet  Boyd  who,  sailed  from Glasgow  in  1918  for  a  new  life  in  Australia.  I  think  they  may  have  settled  in  Prahran,  near  Melbourne.  They  had  six  children.,  Robert,  James, Ruby,  William, Marion  and  Neil.  Births  probably  ranged  from  1920---1938/40.  Janet's  parents'  names  were.,  Robina  Wilson  and  James  Boyd  anf  James's  parents'  names  were.,  Robert  Dickson  and  Euphemia  Briggs.   James  and  Janet  married  in  Glasgow  Scotland  in  1918  and  then  set  off  for  their  new  life.
Any  help  on  this  would  be  greatly  appreciated.  Susan  Hamilton.

Hi  Jenn.  Looks  like  the  same  people  I  am  looking  for.  They  are  relatives  on  my  paternal  side.
Do  you  know  how  I  would  go  about  finding  the  rest  of  the  family  and,  any  marriages.?
You  have  been  a  great  help.  Susan  Hamilton.

Hello there

the marriage index in victoria on ly goes to 1942

unless you go on line to the victorian bdm

and have a look there they have a reasonable charge of one dollar but the actual certificate is about 17.50
but you can directly down load to your computer BUT i dont know what time frame they go to
i will check on that
also dont fill in too many details just the name often gives more results  i seethat susanbuck has added the site for you to go to
regards jenn
