Hello Sweet,

Welcome to Rootschat.

Did you post an email to the Waterford Library explaining your problem?
Libraries tend to be excellent at giving assistance and usually send loads
of helpful information. I get the feeling that you read the information on their
site but did not send a message to them.

All the Best, Christopher

Hiya Sweet,

Here's a list of schools in Co. Waterford including several in Dungarvan.
Unfortunately it does not mention if they were there in the 1940s. http://hort.net/+13kY

All the Best, Christopher

Hello Christopher,
I have written down all the schools in dungarvan that could be relevent to me. I have also emailed the Waterford County Library but so far haven't heard anything, but it could take a few days or so.

would anyone know what the address would be for the church in Dungarvan at the top of the street. If i can remember it was on the top road and the big hill that went down took you into Dungarvan square ? it's been 13 years since i was in Dungarvan so i may have it wrong !

The Church is St Mary's Parish church and your description is perfect. This might help.
http://www.waterfordlismore.com/parish.php?parish=19

The street leading up the hill to the church is Mary's Street and  the street  the church is on is  St Mitchell  street....locally just called Mitchell street. Next door to the church is the priests  houses and next to the priests house is the Christian  Brothers school.

Hope that is of some help to you.

All the best Angela.

Hello Angela, Thankyou very much for the info on the name of the church- i was especially glad to see Christian Brother's School mentioned as this is where my dad said he attended and i wasn't sure where in Dungarvan it was !  :)
